  • The road to adulthood is like a challenging journey, sometimes like a smooth highway, other times like a bumpy terrain. In order to better prepare young people for adult life, it is time for a new step! That's why Children's Perspective Foundation and Foundation of the Child are joining forces. Together they want to ensure that young people face the future with confidence. In what way? By building an online escaperoom! In this virtual environment, young people will be challenged with interactive assignments and fun games, while simultaneously gaining important skills and receiving valuable information. It will be a mix of skills, fun and information - exactly what young people need to prepare for the next step in their lives.

Children's Perspective Foundation is the instigator of this collaboration. In 2014, we already introduced the Kwikstart app, a free application and website with national and local information for young people between the ages of 16 and 27. Bas Rodijk, Project leader at Stichting Kinderperspectief: "The great thing is that this idea did not originate behind a desk, but was conceived by young people themselves during two Children's Perspective LAB evenings.. Of course, we will also give young people an active role during the creation of the game. The realization of this project offers enormous opportunities for the municipalities and users of Mercury Start who are already involved. Youth between the ages of 14 and 27 can play the online escaperoom independently or in groups, with help from a friend, teacher or social worker. This can be done at home, at school or at a youth aid provider. After playing the game, young people are encouraged to reflect on their own lives and create an action plan."
